Although it is not strictly necessary to create a swap partition if you have enough RAM, it is highly recommended to avoid performance issues.
Swap Partition Size
The size of the swap partition depends on the amount of RAM available on the system. A general rule of thumb is to set the swap partition size equal to the amount of RAM on the system or slightly more. On systems with more than 8 GB of RAM, it may be possible to reduce the swap size as virtual memory usage becomes less critical.
